Fall 2026 lineup: free online ViteConf, Ship SF, and the hybrid React tracks worth a remote pass

August 17, 2026

First edition, built around what is still ahead this fall rather than what already shipped. DFW does not have a dedicated React or platform conference, so the practical plan is one or two travel days plus remote passes and free streams. Ranked by how much of it you can get without leaving Garland.

  1. ViteConf 2026 — October 15, fully online and free

Fifth edition, back to 100% online and streamed on YouTube, run by VoidZero (Evan You's company behind Vite, Vitest, Rolldown and Oxc). This is the single highest signal event for your build layer, and it costs nothing but a day of attention. Expect Rolldown/Oxc rollout status and Vitest direction, which is what actually changes your day to day tooling.

  2. Vercel Ship San Francisco — October 15, Palace of Fine Arts

Vercel ran Ship in five cities this year (NYC, London, Berlin, Sydney, SF), and the through line was agentic infrastructure: Agent Stack, Vercel Connect, and agents doing a large share of deployments. SF on Oct 15 is the last stop, and it collides with ViteConf, so pick one live and watch the other on replay. Even if you skip it, read the keynote recap, because the platform decisions land in your Next.js projects within a quarter.

  3. React Summit US — New York, November 17 and 20, with a full online track

GitNation's US edition is hybrid by design: two in-person days in New York plus a remote pass that gets you the streams, Q&A and workshop material. This is the closest thing to a US flagship React event, and the remote option is the right call for a two hour flight versus a home routine you do not want to disrupt. Recent editions leaned heavily on TanStack Start and AI-in-the-loop React work.

  4. TanStack content is now conference mainstream, not a side track

Tanner Linsley shipped TanStack Start 1.0 on a conference stage, and 2026 programs now carry TanStack AI, TanStack Devtools and "be a TanStack developer" framing talks rather than router-only sessions. If you are already on Query and Router, the workshop tracks at the GitNation events are the fastest way to see where Start and the AI streaming primitives are headed. Worth watching the recorded workshops before committing to Start in production.

  5. React Advanced London — October 23 to 26, remote ticket available

The deeper, more architecture heavy sibling to React Summit, and traditionally where performance, compiler and RSC internals talks land. No reason to fly, but the online pass is cheap relative to what senior-level talks cost elsewhere. Good candidate if your employer has a conference budget that expires this year.

  6. Cloudflare Agents Week aftermath: the agent stack got a platform

Cloudflare's April innovation week covered compute, identity, memory, search and browser automation for autonomous agents, and it is the reference point for anyone building agent features on Workers or Durable Objects. Cloudflare does these as free online announcement weeks plus regional Connect on Tour days, so there is nothing to travel for. Skim the week's blog index rather than the news writeups; the primary posts include the actual APIs and limits.

  7. AI Engineer World's Fair talks are dropping free after the June event

The June 29 to July 2 event in San Francisco ran 29 tracks with roughly 300 speakers, and talks are being released publicly on their channel. For your purposes the useful tracks are agent reliability, evals and coding agents, not the enterprise keynotes. Queue a few of these instead of paying for a 2027 ticket sight unseen.

  8. Local reality check: Lone Star Software Symposium is the main Dallas option

No Fluff Just Stuff runs a two day Dallas event (2026 edition was June 25 to 26) and tickets bundle virtual workshop credits, so the value carries past the weekend. It is Java-platform heavy and not a React event, but it is the only recurring senior-level in-person conference in the metro worth tracking. Set a reminder for the 2027 date and treat the virtual credits as the real benefit.

  9. Two calendars to watch instead of doing this research yourself

react.dev keeps an official conference list with hybrid and remote events flagged, and dev.events lets you filter by topic (React, AWS, AI) and by online-only. Between them you can catch CFPs and early-bird windows months out. Useful now because 2027 dates are already posted, including React Summit Amsterdam on May 21 and 25, 2027.
